The Phinehas Anointing
Num 25:6-9,
“Then an Israelite man brought into the camp a Midianite woman right before the eyes of Moses and the whole assembly of Israel while they were weeping at the entrance to the tent of meeting. 7 When Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, saw this, he left the assembly, took a spear in his hand 8 and followed the Israelite into the tent. He drove the spear into both of them, right through the Israelite man and into the woman’s stomach. Then the plague against the Israelites was stopped; 9 but those who died in the plague numbered 24,000.”
The other day during a time of prayer the Lord brought up to me the Phinehas anointing. I went and looked at the passage and was massively provoked that this is a key in this moment for the body of Christ to deal with the corona virus.
Phinehas was a priest that was witnessing 1000’s of people die all around him, due to a plague, because of the sexual immorality that the Israelites had entered into by being seduced by the Moabite nation. This was the plan of the enemy that had been introduced through Balaam as a way to get God to curse the Israelites and bring her under a plague. Phineas came on the scene as the plague was devastating the people of God. As Moses and the people were weeping and interceding Phinehas got provoked by what was happening.
Phinehas had an unusual passion for God. He was so passionate for God that he took a spear and went and thrust the spear through a man and a woman who were operating in the sin that was causing the plague. Because of the passion for God that Phinehas had, he literally stopped the plague. The plague had already killed 24,000. After his spear went through their bodies the plague completely stopped.
Num. 25:11 says, “Phinehas son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, the priest, has turned my anger away from the Israelites. Since he was as zealous for my honor among them as I am.”
After reading this I began to ask what the anointing of Phinehas was that we could lay ahold of in this time. The anointing he had literally stopped a plague. Looking through the story I discovered the anointing is a zeal for God’s ways and God’s people. It was the same anointing David had when he heard that Goliath was taunting the people of God. 1 Sam. 17:45,
“David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.”
David got provoked to go after the enemy of God’s people. The same passion that was on Phinehas was upon him. He got so provoked that he put himself in harms way when the army and king were all crippled with fear. In his zeal for God and the people of God he went and took off the head of Goliath.
This Phinehas anointing is available today. You cannot access this anointing by waiting for a word of God to confirm you can do something. I was talking the other day to another prophet about the corona virus. He was sharing that the prophets needed to move from predictive prophecies to causative prophecies. That is in line with the Phinehas anointing. Phinehas wasn’t waiting for another word. He saw that God’s honor was at stake and he was willing to do something that priests don’t normally do. He entered into a military leader’s authority and killed the enemy. In like measure David didn’t get a word from God but he was provoked with zeal to deal with the taunting, fear provoking, enemy to the people of God. He put his life on the line to see Goliath fall.
We have heard some prophetic words from reputable prophets saying that the corona virus will be dealt with around Passover time. I have felt in my own spirit that the next few weeks it would start to diminish. What if these words and many other words about it ending has to do with the Phinehas anointing? It is time to move away from simply looking for what people are saying about the corona to becoming the corporate Phinehas that takes the spear of the Spirit of God and begins to launch declarations at this enemy of God. We need to partner declarations with the prophetic words we’ve already heard and say to this corona giant enough is enough.
Prophecy can either be predictive or causative. Prophecy foretells and is also forthtelling. This is no longer the time to just be hearing words foretelling what is to come. This is the time to move into prophecies and declarations that are causing what will happen or in this case what needs to no longer happen.
Who will rise up with me and receive their spear and stop believing the lies of the enemy that this virus will go on and on for years and take out millions in our nations? What if instead we step into the same authority as Phinehas and say enough is enough and literally end the plague. Let your prophecies cause the end of the plague. Right now when I am writing this article, the count of corona virus induced deaths worldwide have been tracked at around 24,000 deaths. This is where Phinehas said enough is enough and stopped the virus through his act of valor for the honor of God. Who will join with me as I am lodging my spear into the head of the corona virus and say enough is enough? We are not waiting around, hiding, surviving, or trying to outlast this virus. We are saying in the spirit of Phinehas and David to the corona virus that you are an enemy of God. Your head comes off NOW!!!! The blood of Jesus has defeated you and the death and resurrection of Jesus declared your authority is not allowed to reign. We will not let your reign go on any longer!!!
